Uday Kumar, 35, a native of Puthige in Kasaragod, who was among the 18 labourers rescued from alleged bonded labour at a farm in Karnataka’s Hassan district, was brought back and handed over to the Kasaragod district administration on Saturday (April 18), officials said.

The workers, including two Keralites, were freed during a joint raid by the Karnataka police and the Revenue department in Chatnahalli village near Halebeedu in Karnataka. According to officials, the labourers had been confined and forced to work without wages.
