A 65-year-old private firm employee accused in a POCSO case succumbed at a private hospital in Kengeri, after he allegedly consumed a cleaning liquid fearing arrest, on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Ambarish, who was allegedly accused of sexually harassing a nine-year-old girl from his neighbourhood on October 8.
The victim’s parents came to know about the incident and filed a complaint with the police. The accused who came to know about this consumed the liquid and was found unconscious on Sunday.
The relatives of the accused rushed him to hospital where he succumbed in the early hours.
The Kengeri police have registered a case of un natural death and are investigating.
