T. Narayana Rao (62), who allegedly sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl, has reportedly ended his life by jumping into a pond on the outskirts of Tuni town in Kakinada district. The victim and accused belong to Tuni town.

On Tuesday (October 21, 2025), Mr. Narayana Rao has reportedly taken the girl out by obtaining permission from the government school on the pretext of her medical need. Later, he allegedly sexually assaulted the victim in a garden, where he was caught by the garden’s owner.

On Wednesday (October 22, 2025), the incident came to light after the garden’s owner posted the video online. The Peddapuram divisional police arrested the accused.

Peddapuram Deputy Superintendent of Police D Sreehariraju told The Hindu: “The medical examinations have been completed in Tuni government hospital by 10 p.m. on Wednesday (October 22, 2025). At around 10.20 p.m., the accused had appealed to the escort team to allow him to go to the toilet while he was being taken to produce before a local court. Mr. Narayana Rao has suddenly run away and jumped into the pond”

“The search operation was launched immediately. However, Mr. Narayana Rao’s dead body has been traced out in the pond at around 8 a.m. on Thursday”, said DSP Mr. Sreehariraju..

The police recovered the dead body and sent to Tuni government hospital for post-mortem. Those who are struggling with suicidal tendencies could contact Kakinada District Police by dialing 94407 96513.
