The Rajendranagar Special Operations Team arrested a man on Tuesday (December 30, 2025) for selling deer meat illegally in the Attapur area of the city.

The accused was identified as Mohd. Irfanuddin, a resident of Suleman Nagar. During the operation, the police recovered about 15 kilograms of deer meat, ₹3,000 in cash, butcher knives and other materials used for the illegal trade.

According to the police, live deers were supplied to the accused by a man identified as Ali, a resident of Bahadurpura. The animals were allegedly transported from Pebbair in Wanaparthy district and the meat was sold locally at prices ranging between ₹800 and ₹1,000 per kilogram.

The accused, along with the seized material, was handed over to the Forest Department for further action. A case has been registered under the Wildlife Protection Act, and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the supplier.
