Mithun C.R., who introduced himself as a native of Chikkamagaluru district, visited the district hospital in February 2026. He claimed to be an IAS officer holding a senior post at Arogya Soudha, the headquarters of the Health and Family Welfare Department, in Bengaluru.

A person, who was arrested by Bengaluru police on the charge of impersonating an IAS officer, allegedly held meetings with officials in Chikkamagaluru district. Interestingly, he was felicitated in a public programme ‘for clearing the toughest exam and getting into IAS’.
