Bagalkot Police have arrested a man who used his 12-year-old son to write Jai Sri Ram slogans on the wall of a mosque in the city.

Yamunori Bhajantri, an auto driver, visited the street with six children, including some of his sister’s children, on Friday night. He asked his 12-year-old son to write the slogan on the wall of the mosque.

This incident was captured in a nearby CCTV. A team of police officers visited the site and scanned the CCTV footage. They arrested Yamunori Bhajantri. His son, who is now considered a child in conflict with law, has been taken into custody and produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.

The police said that due legal process, including further investigation, is on.

Superintendent of Police Siddarth Goel has appealed to the people not to use innocent children in offences.

He has warned adults who indulge in such acts of strict legal action. He has also appreciated the members of the mosque community for maintaining peace and displaying restraint.
