Political leaders in Andhra Pradesh paid rich tributes to Maharshi Valmiki on the occasion of his Jayanti on Tuesday (October 7, 2025), recalling his message of transformation, righteousness, and knowledge that continued to inspire humanity.

In a post on X, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu conveyed his greetings, describing Maharshi Valmiki as a “beacon of wisdom who proved that the pursuit of knowledge has no limits.”

“Though circumstances once led him down a different path, through intense penance, he became a great sage and illuminated the world with his compassion and wisdom. His life will remain a source of inspiration as long as this creation exists,” Mr. Naidu said.

HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, in his message on X, extended greetings, noting that through the Ramayana, Valmiki not only highlighted family and social values but also paved the way for peace in society.

“Ratnakara transformed into Maharshi Valmiki, and his teachings remain deeply relevant even today,” Mr. Lokesh said.

YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy paid floral tributes to Maharshi Valmiki at the party office in Vijayawada. Taking to X, he said, “Maharshi Valmiki, who gave the world the epic Ramayana, stands as an eternal inspiration. His transformation from a hunter to a revered sage through the chanting of Rama’s name is a shining example for all. On this auspicious Jayanti, I extend my best wishes to the people.” Senior leader and MLA Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy was among others present.

In a message on X, BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav said Maharshi Valmiki’s Ramayana continued to guide humanity. “He taught human values and showed the path of dharma. On this Jayanti, I bow in reverence to the great sage,” he said.
