Lorry driver burnt alive in road mishap

A lorry driver was burnt alive in a road mishap that occurred on the national highway between Vijayawada and Eluru early on Saturday. The deceased, Surendra (22), was a native of Kakinada district.

Police said that a fire reportedly broke out in the lorry cabin when the vehicle hit a tipper parked on the roadside near Veeravalli in Krishna district around 2.30 a.m.. Surendra, who was trapped in the cabin, died on the spot, while another driver inside the cabin had a narrow escape.
