Law and order has collapsed in Telangana, charges Telangana BJP chief

Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao, on Monday (October 27, 2025), alleged that law and order in the State has completely collapsed, with even police officers no longer safe. Referring to the recent attack on a DCP [of Hyderabad South-East Zone] as deeply troubling, he said what was even more disturbing was that Majlis (AIMIM) party leaders visited the hospital to console the accused rather than the injured officer.

Addressing a press conference at the State BJP office, Mr. Rao urged the people of Jubilee Hills and Telangana to decide what kind of governance they want. “On one side, we see a rising gun culture and violence; on the other, Congress and MIM are undermining peace and security,” he said.

He criticized the Congress government for failing to implement its six guarantees, warning that if it wins the byelection, those guarantees may morph into a new manifesto: withdrawal of cases against rowdy-sheeters, special licenses for extortion and hafta collection, no FIRs for threats and violence, a monthly pension of ₹50,000 for aged rowdy-sheeters, establishment of a rowdy-sheeter corporation, and special licenses for land grabbing and settlements.

Mr. Rao also accused the Congress government of failing people across all sectors — farmers, students, employees, and the common man. He demanded that the Government clear pending dues to retired employees, including pensions and provident fund payments, amounting to nearly ₹12,000 crore. Despite promising ₹700 crore per month, not a single rupee has been released, he pointed out.

He dismissed the BRS party as ‘politically irrelevant’, saying its ‘car’ (party symbol) is a broken vehicle — without a steering, wheels and a driver. “Once parked in the MIM garage, it now lies permanently in the shed. Those who emerged from that broken vehicle have no credibility,” he added.

Earlier, MP and national president of the OBC Morcha, Dr. K. Laxman, said the Jubilee Hills byelection presents voters with a choice between appeasement politics and development-focused governance. Participating in the election campaign, he described the contest as a direct battle between the BJP and the communal politics of AIMIM, urging voters to recognize the latter’s pattern of exploiting religious sentiments for political gain.
