IT & HRD Minister Nara Lokesh will distribute house site title deeds to 3,000 people living on government lands in Mangalagiri constituency under the second phase of the Mana Illu – Mana Lokesh programme on July 21 and 22.

According to an official release, thousands of families have been living for decades in houses built on foothills as well as on forest and temple lands in the constituency without legal ownership. In the absence of title deeds, they have been unable to transfer the properties to their heirs or avail themselves of loans during emergencies.

The release said Mr. Lokesh had assured eligible residents during the 2024 Assembly election campaign that they would be granted ownership rights within a year of the coalition government assuming office.

In April 2025, he distributed title deeds to 3,002 beneficiaries residing on government lands in Ratnala Cheruvu, Yerrabalem and Neerukonda in Mangalagiri. The lands covered under that phase were valued at about ₹1,000 crore.

The lands proposed to be covered under the second phase, scheduled for July 21 and 22, are also estimated to be worth around ₹1,000 crore.
