IT Minister Nara Lokesh will participate in the groundbreaking ceremony of Blue Jet Healthcare Ltd, manufacturers of contrast media intermediates used in medical imaging, in Anakapalli district on February 28.

According to officials, Mr. Lokesh will arrive in Visakhapatnam on February 27 night. On February 28, he will arrive at Seethapalem village in Rambilli mandal and participate in the programme along with Home Minister V. Anitha, MLAs and others. District Collector Vijaya Krishnan, and Superintendent of Police, Tuhin Sinha have made elaborate arrangements for the programme..

The ₹2,300 crore worth greenfield pharmaceutical manufacturing facility spread across over 102 acres is coming up in the Rambilli Industrial Park. It is expected to generate 1,750 direct jobs and 250 indirect jobs, and will significantly strengthen the industrial profile of the Visakhapatnam economic region.

According to officials, the project will create new production capacities for contrast media intermediates, high-intensity sweeteners and multipurpose chemistry units. The facility will be developed in phases and is targeted to become operational by FY2028–29.

After the programme, Mr Lokesh will attend a few more programmes in the district.

Founded in 1968 as Jet Chemicals Private Limited, Blue Jet Healthcare has evolved into a science-led speciality pharmaceutical and healthcare ingredients company headquartered in Maharashtra.

Currently, it operates as an integrated Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO), supplying advanced pharmaceutical intermediates, APIs, contrast media intermediates and high-intensity sweeteners across India, Europe, the United States and other international markets.
