The Andhra Pradesh Excise Department has extended the deadline for submitting applications for the fresh allotment of 807 retail (A4) liquor shops under the Excise Policy 2026-27 to midnight on October 6.

Prohibition and Excise Commissioner Chamakuri Sridhar said the applications would be scrutinised on October 7, followed by a draw of lots on October 8 to allot licences to eligible applicants.

Of the 807 shops identified for fresh allotment across the State, 799 fall under the open category and eight under the reserved category. The fresh allotment covers shops that were not renewed or are currently non-operational.

Individuals aged 21 years or above and not otherwise disqualified under the rules are eligible to apply. An applicant can apply for any number of shops, and multiple applications can also be submitted for a single shop. Each application requires a non-refundable fee of ₹3 lakh, besides a processing fee of ₹1,000.

Applications can be submitted online, through hybrid mode or offline, as prescribed in the notification. Online applications for open-category shops can be filed through the designated portal, and a separate portal is available for reserved-category applications.

Mr. Sridhar said selected applicants must fulfil all statutory and regulatory requirements. A permit room licence will also be mandatory for establishing and operating an A4 liquor shop.
