The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) disbursed compensation totalling ₹4.38 crore to the dependants of employees who died due to accidents and medical causes, in Karnataka. Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy presided over the programme, held at the KSRTC central office in Bengaluru.

Under the Saarige Suraksha Accident Insurance Scheme, cheques of ₹1 crore each were handed over to the families of three employees who died due to off-duty accidents and electrocution. With this, KSRTC has provided ₹42 crore so far to the dependants of 42 employees.

The Minister also soft-launched the corporation’s new commercial management system, e-Vaneejya. E-Vaneejya is a commercial management software designed in-house to streamline billing, licence fee payments and GST processing for 1,847 commercial units operating at bus stations. Officials said the system will replace the existing manual process and improve accuracy and efficiency.
