‘Kozhikode–Kannur stretch saw most train stone attacks in past three years’

There were over 50 cases of stone attacks on trains under the Palakkad division alone in the past three years.

The majority of cases of stone-pelting on trains under the Southern Railway division in the past three years were reported on the Kozhikode-Kannur stretch, according to the Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF). There were over 50 such major cases under the Palakkad division alone, as per the available data, they added.

The frequently targeted trains, according to RPF officers, were the Sampark Kranti Express, Vande Bharat Express, Mangaluru-Chennai Superfast and Netravati Express.
