K. Lakshmi, who has been stranded in Muscat, Oman, has been reunited with the family after her repatriation on Friday.

A native of Vaasalatippa village in Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema district, Ms. Lakshmi was sent to Muscat by a local agent in September 2025. She was recruited to work as a housemaid.

In an official release, Konaseema Centre for Migration nodal officer V. Subba Rao has said that Ms. Lakshmi was subjected to physical harassment at her work place in Muscat. “The family members of the woman sought help of the KCM for her rescue and repatriation, following which steps were initiated to bring her back,” he added.
