The candidature of the youngest candidate of the United Democratic Front (UDF) in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation has become uncertain after her name was removed from the supplementary voters’ list published by the State Election Commission the other day.

The name of candidate Vyshna Suresh has been removed from the voters’ list for the local body elections after the CPI(M) complained that her name was not on the Corporation’s electoral roll. An error in providing the address has resulted in the removal of her name from the electoral roll.

Only a person whose name appears on the voters’ list of any of the wards within the Corporation can contest the elections. Ms. Suresh is the UDF candidate for the Muttada ward. Speaking to the media on Saturday, she said she would verify the facts first, and the party would decide the next steps to be taken.
