The Kozhikode city police have registered a case against senior Congress leader and KPCC Political Affairs Committee member N. Subrahmanian for allegedly sharing an AI-generated photograph depicting Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan along with Sabarimala gold theft suspect Unnikrishnan Potti.

The case was filed at Chevayur police station after Mr. Subrahmanian shared the digitally altered image on Facebook, accompanied by a caption insinuating a connection between the Chief Minister and the accused.

Police sources confirmed that one of the images circulated was created using artificial intelligence tools.

The FIR was based on a complaint that the content was intended to provoke conflict and promote enmity between different groups.

Accordingly, Mr. Subrahmanian has been booked under Sections 192 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 120 of the Kerala Police Act.
