Kerala Assembly Polls 2026: Shanimol Osman wrests Aroor, P. Prasad strengthens hold on Cherthala

Shanimol Osman of the United Democratic Front (UDF) and P. Prasad of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) won the Aroor and Cherthala constituencies respectively in Alappuzha district.

Ms. Osman wrested back the Aroor seat from CPI(M)’s sitting MLA Daleema by a margin of 9,324 votes. She secured 74,469 votes against Ms. Daleema’s 65,145. P.S. Jyothis of the Bharath Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) finished a distant third with 20,334 votes, a slight increase from the 17,479 votes polled by the party candidate five years earlier.
