Voter enthusiasm was at its peak in the Paravur, Angamaly, Aluva and Kalamassery Assembly constituencies in Ernakulam district right from the start of the polling on Thursday (April 9, 2026).

Long queues were visible in the first hour of polling as women and elderly turned up in large numbers to cast their votes. At the Block Resource Centre in East Kadungalloor, people turned up even before 7 a.m. The election officials took additional care to permit the senior citizens and infirm to skip the queue and complete the voting process without much delay.
