The 2026 Assembly elections in Kollam district concluded on a high note, with a final recorded voter turnout of 76.27%. The district has 20,87,992 registered voters and majority demonstrated a remarkable commitment to the electoral process, with participation climbing steadily from the early morning hours until the booths closed at 6 p.m. The day began with a modest start as the district recorded a 16.04% turnout in the first couple of hours, but the momentum shifted rapidly as the morning progressed.
By midday, the polling percentage had doubled to 32.94%, signalling a strong wave of voter engagement across both urban and rural belts. As the sun reached its zenith, the district edged closer to the halfway mark, recording 48.9% by the afternoon. The final hours saw a decisive surge, with the numbers jumping to 61.44% by late afternoon before finally settling at the closing figure of 76.27%.
