MP for Mysuru and Kodagu Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar on Tuesday said that he is committed to working for the overall development of the historic Sidlu Mallikarjuna Swamy Betta in Periyapatna taluk.

Mr. Yaduveer stated that he felt blessed after having the ‘darshan’ of Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy at the hills on the occasion of Deepavali Amavasya.

The MP, along with hundreds of devotees, undertook a ‘padayatra’ to the temple located at Bettadapura in Periyapatna taluk, offered special puja to Lord Sidlu Mallikarjuna Swamy, and prayed for the well-being of the State.

Speaking after his visit, Mr. Yaduveer said that it was a unique spiritual experience to climb the hill and have the ‘darshan’ of the Lord, along with thousands of devotees. Extending greetings on the occasion of Deepavali, he wished for the festival of lights to bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to everyone, and that the State continues to flourish.

Mr. Yaduveer said that thousands of devotees are emotionally attached to this ancient and sacred hill. “I resolve to work for the overall development of this hill,” he added.

The MP stated that the State government has completely neglected this historic shrine, causing disappointment among devotees. “Several devotees expressed their grievances during the padayatra,” he said.

“The negligence on the part of the State government will be rectified. I am committed to developing the temple at the hills,” Mr. Yaduveer asserted.
