The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday (October 7, 2025) trapped two officials from the Drugs Control Administration, Karimnagar district, and a private individual while accepting a bribe of ₹20,000 for an official favour.

Assistant Director Maryala Srinivasulu and Drug Inspector Karthik Bharadwaj were arrested at Vijetha Hospital, Karimnagar, after they demanded and accepted the bribe through a private intermediary, identified as Pulluri Ramu.

According to the ACB, the bribe was demanded for clearing the annual inspection of a pharmacy owned by the complainant. Officials said the tainted amount of ₹20,000 was recovered from Pulluri Ramu, who had collected it on behalf of the two officers.

All three accused were arrested and produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Karimnagar. The case remains under investigation, and the complainant’s identity has been withheld for security reasons.

ACB’s Toll free number to complaint

The ACB has urged citizens to report any instances of bribery by public servants via its toll-free helpline 1064 or through its official social media channels, assuring that the identities of complainants will be kept confidential.
