Film director K. Madhu resigned from his post as chairperson of the Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC) on Saturday. He had been continuing in the position for some time even after the previous Left Democratic Front (LDF) government directed all political appointees to vacate their posts following the change of guard in the State administration.
He reportedly submitted his resignation to the Secretary of the Cultural Affairs Department.
Earlier, heads of various cultural institutions, including poet and writer K. Satchidanandan and writer Ashokan Charuvil, who had been serving in various positions at the Kerala Sahitya Akademi, stepped down after the change in government.
Similarly, Kerala State Chalachitra Academy chairperson Resul Pookutty and vice-chairperson Kukku Parameswaran had also tendered their resignations.
