Jana Chaitanya Vedika-AP State President Bankuru Joginaidu on Sunday urged both Union and State governments to come out with a legislation for the implementation of political reservations for backward classes both in Parliament and Legislative Assemblies in the country. He submitted a memorandum to Vizianagaram MP Kalisetti Appala Naidu who in turn assured to him to bring the issue to the notice of both governments.
Speaking to media, Mr. Naidu said that the reservation in local bodies should be extended to all 145 communities which were classified into five categories. He said that only a few dominant communities are getting the political reservation benefits in municipal, MPTC and ZPTC elections while doing injustice to more than 100 communities in the State. Mr. Naidu said that a representation has been submitted to Rajiv Ranjan Mishra, Chairman of BC Dedicated Commission with regard to extension of reservation benefits to all 145 communities in the State.
