Saying that the days of boycott are over, former Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party MLAs have to attend the Assembly sessions as per norms or face disqualification.

He stated in a press release that Mr. Mohan Reddy and the other YSR Congress Party MLAs have to apply for leave of absence from the House, which has to sanction such leave in order to condone his and his MLAs’ absence to avoid disqualification under Article 190(4) of the Constitution.

If Mr. Mohan Reddy and his party MLAs do not seek leave of absence from the House, they have no other way except to face disqualification on completion of 60 days.

It must be noted that if the House rejects their plea for leave of absence, disqualification of the former Chief Minister and his MLAs is certain, and it was up to them to decide what to do, Mr. Ramakrishnudu said, adding that of the 60 days, 39 were already over.
