Nellore police officials have busted an IPL cricket betting racket. They have arrested 12 people in the gang so far, and a search is on for two more. They have also seized ₹2.05 lakh in cash, 13 mobile phones and a television from the accused.

Revealing the case details to reporters at the Dargamitta police station in Nellore on Tuesday (April 21, 2026) evening, District Superintendent of Police Ajitha Vejendla said the police had focused on online cricket betting during the ongoing IPL season, which runs till May 24, 2026. “With the direction from the Chief Minister N. Chandrabbau Naidu and instructions of the State DGP Harish Kumar Gupta, we have focused on online cricket betting,” she said.
