The Military Station, Pangode, observed Infantry Day on Monday with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Pangode War Memorial.

Brigadier Anurag Upadhyaya, Commander 91 Infantry Brigade paid tributes at the War memorial on behalf of all ranks at the Military Station.

The ceremony was attended by veterans and serving officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, and other ranks of the Station.

Infantry Day is observed annually to mark the first military action by the Indian Army after Independence, when troops of the 1st Battalion of the Sikh Regiment landed at Srinagar on October 27 to defend Jammu & Kashmir from external aggression.
