Of these cancelled flights, 109 IndiGo flights were cancelled at Mumbai airport, 51 arrivals and 58 departures, and 106 flights at Delhi airport, which included 54 departures and 52 arrivals.

Domestic carrier IndiGo has cancelled over 200 flights from Delhi and Mumbai on Saturday (December 6, 2025), a day after managing to temporarily secure major relaxations in the second phase of the court-mandated new flight duty and rest period norms for cockpit crew, sources said.

Of these cancelled flights, 109 IndiGo flights were cancelled at Mumbai airport, 51 arrivals and 58 departures, and 106 flights at Delhi airport, which included 54 departures and 52 arrivals, they said.

On Friday (December 5), when IndiGo cancelled over 1,000 flights from across airports, IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers, after maintaining a stoic silence over the grave crisis for three days, apologised in a video message for the major inconvenience caused to passengers due to the disruptions.

In the one-way video communication, Mr. Elbers also said that the airline was expecting fewer than 1,000 flights on Saturday (December 6).

It may be mentioned here that on Friday (December 5), DGCA provided temporary relief to IndiGo, which is partially owned by Rahul Bhatia, by way of rolling back the night duty definition to 12 a.m.-5 a.m/ from 12 a.m.-6 a.m. earlier, and allowing its pilots to do six night-landings from two earlier, besides other relaxations.

It is worth noting that IndiGo was the first carrier to oppose the new FDTL norms for pilots when they were introduced in January 2024, with a March implementation timeline. The norms were originally to be put in place in March 2024.

IndiGo resumes 9 flights from Jammu Airport, cancels 7 from Srinagar

IndiGo on Saturday (December 6, 2025) announced the resumption of nine of its 11 flights from the Jammu Airport, but cancelled seven flights from Srinagar, owing to the nationwide disruptions caused by the airline’s pilot-rostering issues.

The resumption of flights from Jammu brought much-needed respite to travellers who were left stranded at the airport after a series of cancellations. On the contrary, a total of eight flights — seven operated by IndiGo — stood cancelled at the Srinagar International Airport.

The airline was scheduled to operate 36 flights from the Srinagar airport on Saturday, 18 inbound and 18 outbound, officials said.

However, owing to rostering issues, IndiGo cancelled seven arriving and as many departing flights, they said, adding that to and fro movement of another flight from a separate airline was also cancelled.

Further details were awaited, the officials said.
