One Indian national was killed, and nine others were injured after a vehicle veered off the road in Oman, police said. The incident occurred on Saturday (August 22, 2026) on Sultan Said bin Teymur Street.

The police Air Wing carried out an operation to transport two of the injured from Al Hema Governorate to Nizwa Hospital, the Royal Oman Police said in a post on X.

“The incident resulted in one fatality and injuries to nine people of Indian nationality, who were subsequently transferred to Nizwa Hospital by ambulance for medical treatment,” it said.

The police did not provide further details about the cause of the accident.

Khaleej Times had earlier reported that authorities had warned of low visibility on the highway due to thunderstorms, heavy rain and blowing dust.
