Underlining the importance of mental health in an era of rapid technological change, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (May 10, 2026) stressed the need for ‘natural healing’ of the Mother Earth.

“India is not only a partner in global development, but also holds leadership role in several areas. India is a global leader in digital payment and also hosts the third biggest eco system for start ups. In the era of rapid technological change, mental well being is paramount. Technology connects us to the world, but it is vital to connect with ourselves,” the Prime Minister said, inaugurating Dhyan Mandir in the Art of Living (AOL) International Centre premises to mark the 70th birthday of the AOL founder Sri Sri Ravishankar and 45th year of AOL.

Insisting on sustainable agriculture ahead of the Monsoon season, Mr. Modi said that Mother Earth requires natural cleansing. “Use of chemical fertilisers have ruined the soil. Earth has to be protected from chemicals. Ecology and economy are inseparable. With the Monsoon few weeks away, this is also time to create awareness about water conservation.” Heaping praise on the AOL Founder, he said, “Bengaluru is not only globally recognized for software and services, it is also known for spiritual consciousness. Yoga, Meditation and Pranayama are part of country’s culture.”

On the ‘Swacch Bharath Abhiyan”, he said that it is now the natural part of the society. “One can find collective address to the most challenging issues of the country. Society is bigger than politics and government.”
