A 73-year-old man was held after the Hyderabad police Task Force uncovered an illegal samosa manufacturing unit operating under highly unhygienic conditions in Jiyaguda, seizing food stock and equipment worth an estimated ₹5 lakh.

Acting on specific inputs, the Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Team (H-FAST), along with Task Force personnel and the Kulsumpura police, carried out a raid at a premises opposite SBA Garden on Friday (March 20, 2026) evening. The accused, identified as Abdul Rasheed, was running the unit without mandatory clearances, including an FSSAI licence, trade licence, or fire safety certification.
