The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, will throw open its gates to school students, college students, teachers, researchers, industry professionals, and the public for the Institute Open House between January 2 and January, 2026.

The event will offer visitors a first-hand experience of the institute’s advanced research laboratories, innovation centres, and student-led technology projects. About 80 stalls would be put up featuring student and faculty-led research and development projects, live demonstrations, and innovations. Visitors will have access to over 100 laboratories, including four national research centres, 11 institute research centres, and 15 centres of excellence spanning 18 departments, a press release stated. The 2025 event had a footfall of 35,000 visitors with over 550 schools, including 130 rural institutions, participating.

Those interested may register for the tour at https://shaastra.org/open-house. The last date for registration is December 5. For more details, the WhatsApp channel may be followed on https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VbBWCxdHFxP5N77XMs1w.
