Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management K.A. Sengottaiyan on Friday (June 26, 2026) said the State government would issue identity cards containing details such as students’ address, community certificate, blood group, Aadhaar number and phone number to Class 10 and Class 12 students in the first phase.

Speaking to reporters in Gobichettipalayam, the Minister said students were required to produce community certificates every year for various purposes. To simplify the process, the government had decided to introduce the identity cards, which would integrate all students’ details, he said. Mr. Sengottaiyan said that Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay had directed officials to complete the exercise at the earliest and that work to issue the cards was under way.
