In a breakthrough in the city police’s ongoing efforts to make Mysuru a drug-free city, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) conducted an intensive anti-narcotics operation in Naidu Nagar under the Narasimharaja Police Station limits on December 11. During the raid, the CCB team seized 176 grams of hydro ganja, estimated to be worth ₹17 lakh in the illegal market.
Two persons, identified as Aftab Ali Baig and Pratap Kumar, have been detained for their alleged involvement in the sale and purchase of the contraband. Following the operation, an FIR under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1989, has been registered at the Narasimharaja Police Station.
The Mysuru police have intensified search and surveillance in the city as part of their strategy to curb drug trafficking.
