A 28-year-old private employee, who had sustained critical injuries in a hit-and-run incident in Champapet in the early hours of Saturday, January 17, succumbed while undergoing treatment on Sunday.
The victim was identified as Deverashetty Sunil, 28, a resident of Sai Ram Colony in Saidabad. According to the Saidabad police, he was riding back home around 12.30 a.m. at Green Park Colony on Champapet Main Road when an unidentified car rammed into his motorcycle from behind and fled the spot without stopping.
Sunil suffered severe injuries in the impact and fell unconscious at the scene. He was shifted to a private hospital, where he died on Sunday while undergoing treatment.
Police have registered a hit-and-run case and said efforts are on to trace the vehicle involved.
