1. Gelatin sticks on PM convoy route: Timer circuit recovered by Bengaluru police

After suspicious explosive materials were allegedly found near Kaggalipura on the outskirts of Bengaluru on May 10, close to the route of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s convoy, investigators have now reportedly recovered additional materials believed to be capable of triggering an explosion.

According to sources, police found not only gelatin sticks, but also an electronic circuit and equipment suspected to be meant for connecting detonators. The officials suspect that the circuit has a provision for fixing a date and time, raising concerns that it could have been intended for a timed blast.

2. Workers under CITU Karnataka demand revocation of Labour Codes, burn copies of the Act

Workers across Karnataka under the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) came together to protest against the central labour codes, notified by the Central Government in November 2025, with the related rules being issued through gazette notifications on May 8 and 9. In many places, workers burned copies of the Labour Codes and Rules and took out processions.

The CITU Karnataka State Committee had called for the State-wide protest on May 12, across all district centres and workplaces in accordance with the call given by the CITU All India Committee. However, following the call, many workers started protesting on May 11 itself, said Meenakshi Sundaram, President of the Karnataka State committee of CITU.

3. Nearly 60 minor accident cases in Bengaluru are reported every day on e-accident system

In just six months since the Karnataka Home Department launched the e-accident reporting initiative for Bengaluru, a whopping 10,705 people have used the system, with an average of 60 people using it every day. The system enables commuters to report minor accidents on the spot that do not require filing an FIR but need an acknowledgement from the police to claim insurance.

Earlier, commuters involved in minor accidents had to visit the police station, submit proof, complete paperwork, and wait for the police to issue a report, which would then form the basis for insurance companies to accept claims. Now, around 40% of an average of 150 to 170 cases are being dealt with online, saving nearly 60 people from visiting a police station daily.

4. Electric buggies to ferry passengers at Bengaluru City railway station

Ride-hailing aggregator Rapido has launched an electric buggy service at KSR Bengaluru City railway station on a pilot basis to facilitate passenger movement within the station. Commuters are charged a flat fare of ₹12 per seat for travel from the platforms to the designated pickup area outside the station.

The buggy service ferries passengers directly from the platforms to an organised pickup point where autorickshaws and cabs are available. “Our on-ground team is stationed throughout the process to assist with luggage and navigation, ensuring that commuters feel supported and safe,” a Rapido spokesperson added.
