The second phase of Gram Panchayat elections in Telangana concluded with results declared for every contesting post across the State, according to a report issued by the State Election Commission.

The report states that elections were held for 3,911 Sarpanch posts and 29,917 ward member posts, and results for all of them were announced as of Monday (December 15).

Among Sarpanch contests, Nalgonda topped the list with 241 posts, followed by Sangareddy (229), Siddipet (172), Ranga Reddy (165), and Khammam (160).

In ward member contests, Sangareddy led with 1,941 posts, followed by Nalgonda (1,832), Khammam (1,379), Siddipet (1,371) and Ranga Reddy.

These results reveal a remarkable generational shift in local leadership, with 21-year-old newcomers and experienced elders making their mark. Nine 21-year-olds have been elected Sarpanches, with seven women and two men joining the ranks. In total, women won nine of the 12 seats, while men secured three.

Conversely, the oldest winners include an 86-year-old woman from Vikarabad district and two 83-year-olds from Siddipet and Suryapet districts, showcasing a striking diversity in age and experience among the new leaders.
