Heavy rain and strong winds disrupted power supply across several parts of SPSR Nellore district on Sunday (May 3, 2026) night. While the rain brought some relief from the sweltering heat, the unexpected outage through the night left residents battling a fresh wave of mosquitoes amid severe heat and humidity.

The rain, accompanied by thunder, lightning and strong winds, affected city life for more than an hour. Residents of ISKCON City, Vanam Topu, Magunta Layout, Somasekarapuram, Aravinda Nagar, Janda Street, Podalakur Road, B.V. Nagar, Vedayapalem and Ayyappagudi within the city limits faced inconvenience as the disruption stretched on for hours.
