This summer in Kerala is demanding caution, especially for families with elderly members or those with chronic kidney disease and are on multiple medications because heat stress and heat exhaustion can turn dangerous in these special populations.

The State is witnessing a combination of high temperature and high humidity, which is said to be physiologically much more taxing than the intense but dry summer heat in the northern parts of the country.
