The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has extended the suspension of Television Rating Point (TRP) reporting for TV news channels by four more weeks, or until further directions.

The Ministry has asked the Broadcast Audience Research Council to suspend the publication of TRP ratings for news channels.

The order had previously been issued for four weeks, or until further directions, in view of the “unwarranted sensationalism” surrounding coverage of the ongoing war between the United States, Israel, and Iran.
