Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi in two separate events in Chennai, on the occasion of his death anniversary on Friday. While Mr. Ravi paid tributes at the Gandhi Mandapam campus, Mr. Stalin paid tributes at the Egmore museum campus.

“Paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi on his Punyatithi — the eternal beacon of truth, non-violence and selfless service, whose life of sacrifice, Satyagraha and moral courage awakened the spirit of a nation, uplifted the marginalized, fought social discrimination and was dedicated to the service of the weakest sections of society. Let us live Bapu’s ideals and build a Bharat of his dreams—just, compassionate, inclusive and rooted in our spiritual and cultural heritage,” the Lok Bhavan said.

In a social media post, Mr. Stalin denounced communalism and hailed Mahatma Gandhi. He said the Mahatma who was shot by Godse would continue to live in the lives of the people. “Let’s us teach a befitting lesson to the descendants of Godse, who are determined to ruin the country and save this country,” Mr. Stalin said.
