Former Revenue Minister and Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) senior leader Dharmana Prasada Rao on Sunday (December 14, 2025) asked the State Government to implement land reforms initiated during the tenure of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy as they were necessary to find permanent solutions to land disputes in villages and other places.

Speaking to The Hindu, he alleged that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) had spread rumours and created fear among the people with regard to land reforms on the pretext that the then CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s photo was printed on the passbooks.

“The previous government had completed land resurvey in almost 10,000 villages and distributed passbooks for nearly 30 lakh people. The reforms were stopped by the TDP government.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu should focus on the reforms to ensure clean revenue records at all levels,” said Mr. Prasada Rao. He said that officials of Revenue and Registration Departments had been fleecing the public under the guise of lack of proper records for their lands.
