Freedom Park is set for a major facelift, with Central Corporation Commissioner P. Rajendra Cholan directing officials to carry out comprehensive improvement works covering infrastructure, amenities, and maintenance.

During an inspection at Freedom Park on Friday morning, Mr. Cholan instructed officials to upgrade the park’s facilities by ensuring adequate lighting, drinking water supply, clean restrooms, well-maintained walking tracks, and robust security arrangements for visitors.

To make the park more inclusive and family-friendly, the Commissioner directed the creation of walking paths for senior citizens, women, and children and ordered the establishment of a dedicated kids’ play area. He also instructed the planting of new saplings and the removal of dry or hazardous trees and branches.

Inspecting the multilevel parking facility adjacent to the park, Mr. Cholan suggested utilising the rooftop space for commercial purposes such as exhibitions and sales to generate additional revenue for the Corporation.
