The fourth volume of the book series Raja Ravi Varma: An Everlasting Imprint – The Epics Imagined will be launched by His Highness Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar (HHSNW) Foundation at an event in Mysuru Palace on January 31.

A statement issued by Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, who is also the President of the Foundation, said the book will be launched at Chandrashale Thotti Sabhangana at Mysuru Palace at 5.30 p.m. on January 31.

“This volume explores the images associated with the Ramayana and Mahabharata,” Ms. Wadiyar said on January 25.

She said Raja Ravi Varma enjoyed the patronage of the Wadiyars of Mysore, particularly Maharaja Chamaraja Wadiyar X and Maharaja Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV, who commissioned several of his iconic works that brought to life themes from the Ramayana and Mahabharata.

The venue for the book launch is considered special because it is situated in the older part of the palace, which was then used for cultural events and as a yoga shale. It has been recently renovated by the Foundation, she said.

“We are pleased to announce that the book launch will be the inaugural event at this historic venue,” she said, adding that the venue is exclusive with limited seating available.
