Four youth arrested in Ranipet for possession of country-made bombs

Four youths were arrested by Banavaram police near Sholinghur town on Wednesday for possession of three country-made bombs and sharp weapons during a vehicle check.

The police said K. Sanjay Kumar, 22, B. Ranjith, 22, T. Mani, 21, and N. Kumaran, 23, were arrested. Based on orders of Superintendent of Police P. Sibin, a special police team was conducting a surprise vehicle check on Banavaram – Sholinghur Main Road when the team intercepted a car travelling to Tirupattur.

The team checked the vehicle with the four suspects and found country-made bombs and sharp weapons in it.

A case was registered and the gang members were arrested and lodged at Central Prison in Vellore. A probe is under way.
