A three-day celebration was held to commemorate Founder’s Day by TAW College for Women in its campus in Ambur town in Tirupattur.

According to a press release, the celebration was organized in remembrance of the visionary leadership, humanitarian service, and remarkable contributions of the late T. Abdul Wahid towards education and industrial development in the region.

Minister for Handlooms and Textiles and Ranipet MLA R. Gandhi was the chief guest. The guest of honour was Vellore MP D.M. Kathir Anand. To mark the occasion, a biography of the founder of the college was released by Mohammad Sufyan Qasimi Sahib, Rector, Darul Uloom Waqf. The first copy of the book was received by Rafeeque Ahmed, chairman, Farida Group of Companies.

The event also witnessed an exhibition by students titled ‘Discover Great Women Intellectuals of All Time’, showcasing contributions of eminent women scholars and reformers throughout history, the release said.
