Fire mishap in a factory near Tirupati airport, no casualties reported

A major fire mishap was reported at a factory located near the Tirupati airport on Thursday (September 18) morning. The cause of the mishap could not be clearly ascertained immediately.

Raging flames were reported at Munoth Industries in the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Renigunta mandal of Tirupati district, engaged in the production of lithium ion batteries meant for the consumer electronics segment. Locals who noticed the flame on Thursday morning alerted the fire station.

Six fire tenders reached the spot and brought the fire under control.

No casualties were reported in the mishap, but the loss of property is estimated to the tune of crores of rupees.
