Fire in Cuttack’s SCB hospital ICU leaves at least 10 dead

At least 10 patients are feared died after fire broke out in an intensive care unit of SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack, in the early hours of Monday (March 16, 2026).

Five other patients are battling for life in Odisha’s premier health institute.

Some patients have been rescued and shifted to New Medicine Building in the same campus.

Chief Minister Mohan Majhi arrived at the SCB Medical College Hospital to take stock of the situation.
