Poster announcing the release of ‘Kalamkaval’

The much-anticipated Malayalam movie Kalamkaval, starring Mammootty and Vinayakan,is set to release on November 27. The news was announced in a post by the official Instagram handle of the film’s production banner, Mammootty Kampany, on Thursday (October 23).
“The darkness lifts, revealing the light. Your long wait is finally coming to an end. Kalamkaval will be released exclusively in theatres across the World on November 27, 2025,“ the post read.
Earlier this week, the film, directed by debutant Jithin Jose K, was certified by the censor board with a U/A certificate.
Kalamkaval, penned by Jishnu Sreekumar and Jithin, is rumoured to have the veteran actor donning the role of serial killer Mohan Kumar, popularly known as Cyanide Mohan, convicted of raping and murdering multiple women under the false promise of marriage.
Faisal Ali handles the cinematography, while Mujeeb Majeed is the music director of the project. Praveen Prabhakar serves as the editor.
Mammootty was seen earlier this year in Bazooka. Notably, the actor had taken a break following this film, citing health reasons. He was last seen inLokah Chapter 1 : Chandra, as Muthoon in a cameo role. Earlier in October, the teaser of Patriot, directed by Mahesh Narayanan, starring Mohanlal and Mammootty, was also released. The movie features Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban and Nayanthara.
Previously, Jithin Jose K has penned the 2021 crime thriller Kurup starring Dulquer Salman, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Indrajith Sukumaran, directed by Srinath Rajendran.
