A fire broke out at the Telangana Forensic Science Laboratory in Nampally on Saturday (February 7, 2026) morning. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.

According to an official from the Fire Control Room, a distress call was received at 10.21 am, following which five fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Firefighting units from the Assembly, Secretariat, Gandhi Outpost, Secunderabad and Langar Houz were pressed into service to contain the blaze.

Abids Station Fire Officer, Pardeep Kumar, said the fire originated in the computer room located on the first floor of the G+2 building. Preliminary findings suggest that the blaze may have been triggered by a short circuit, although the exact cause is yet to be established.

The Fire Department personnel at the scene managed to bring the situation under control by noon, preventing the flames from spreading to other parts of the building. A case was registered in connection with the incident, and further investigation is underway.
